Heat pipe coolers are generally hollow, containing substances with very low boiling points. The phase change of the working fluid between gas and liquid in a fully sealed vacuum tube transfers heat, exhibiting extremely high thermal conductivity, nearly a hundred times that of pure copper. Due to their high thermal conductivity, they are regarded as representatives of high-end coolers. Wenxuan Thermal Energy's heat pipe coolers are made using three processes: grooved pipes, metal mesh inner walls, and sintered pipes. The materials are generally red copper or brass, and the heat pipe process or material should be determined based on different design requirements.
Heat pipe coolers are essential in platforms as they help the CPU achieve a cool cooling effect, allowing for more stable operation. Players often use coolers with heat pipes for installation; different players choose different coolers based on their needs, which also affects the number of heat pipes in the cooler. There are single heat pipe, dual heat pipe, and even eight heat pipe coolers. The cooling effects of these coolers vary, and players need to select products that suit their own needs.
The principle is actually quite simple. The absorption and release of heat by an object are relative; whenever there is a temperature difference, heat will inevitably transfer from the high-temperature area to the low-temperature area. Heat pipes utilize evaporative cooling to create a significant temperature difference between the two ends of the heat pipe, allowing for rapid heat conduction.
Generally, a heat pipe consists of a pipe shell, a liquid-absorbing core, and end caps. The inside of the heat pipe is in a negative pressure state and filled with an appropriate liquid that has a low boiling point and easily vaporizes. The pipe wall contains a liquid-absorbing core made of capillary porous material. One end of the heat pipe is the evaporation end, while the other end is the condensation end. When one end of the heat pipe is heated, the liquid in the capillary quickly evaporates; the vapor flows to the other end under a slight pressure difference and releases heat, condensing back into liquid. The liquid then flows back to the evaporation section through capillary action in the porous material. This cycle continues indefinitely, allowing heat to be continuously transferred from one end of the heat pipe to the other. This cycle occurs rapidly, enabling continuous heat conduction.
