We all know that there are three ways to transfer heat: conduction, convection, and radiation. Any cooling design is a comprehensive application of these methods. From a usage perspective, heat pipes have the advantage of extremely fast heat transfer speed. When installed in a radiator, they can effectively reduce thermal resistance and increase cooling efficiency. Heat pipes, also known as 'thermal superconductors', primarily function to conduct heat. They transfer heat through the phase change of the working fluid between gas and liquid within a fully sealed vacuum tube, exhibiting extremely high thermal conductivity—hundreds of times that of pure copper.
From a technical perspective, the core function of a heat pipe is to improve the efficiency of heat transfer by quickly removing heat from the heat source, rather than what is generally referred to as 'heat dissipation'—which includes the process of thermal exchange with the external environment. The working principle of a heat pipe is quite simple; it consists of two parts: the evaporating heated end and the condensing end. When the heated end is heated, the liquid around the pipe wall vaporizes, generating vapor. At this point, the pressure in this section increases, causing the vapor to flow towards the condensing end. Upon reaching the condensing end, it condenses back into liquid while releasing heat, and finally returns to the heated end through capillary action to complete one cycle.
